The energy transition processes began decades ago in several countries around the world. In the Netherlands, for example, the production and export of coal ended in the mid-1960s with the closure of the last coal mine. This decision of the Dutch government was taken based on an energy transition process that involved authorities, companies and workers. Pierre Hupperts is a Dutch expert on sustainability and corporate social responsibility issues. He grew up in a Dutch mining family. Hupperts points out five key points to achieve a just energy transition that leaves no one behind.
